ClearVent™

Have total control with every release.

ClearVent™ transforms one of the most hazardous events in ammonia refrigeration—discharge release—into a controlled, trackable, and safer outcome. Born from decades of ammonia research and real-world testing, ClearVent™ separates and neutralizes high-pressure releases at the source, ensuring that what is released is a cleaner buoyant vapor.

This system combines liquid separation, vapor dilution, data capture, and alarm reporting in a single modular stainless-steel design, delivering safety, compliance, and peace of mind with every release.

In ammonia refrigeration, pressure-relief events are rare but potentially severe. Traditional venting can release dense ammonia aerosols that threaten personnel, product, and nearby communities.

ClearVent™ redefines this process with a patented two-part system that separates, dilutes, and disperses ammonia before discharge.

Separation and Dilution

When a relief valve activates, ClearVent™ first directs the discharge into its internal separator, where liquid ammonia is removed and captured for safe reclaim. This process works to prevent localized contamination and hazards. The remaining vapor is then diluted at the outlet, significantly lowering concentration levels before release.

Transformation and Discharge

Utilizing ammonia’s natural properties, the dense aerosols are transformed into a buoyant vapor, promoting rapid atmospheric dispersion. This minimizes off-site impact and improves compliance with release modeling standards.

Despite this performance, the design maintains ultra-low to no pressure drop, ensuring that system safety and relief capacity remain uncompromised.

Operational intelligence built in.

Beyond mechanical performance, ClearVent™ adds a digital layer of awareness. The unit triggers alarm outputs during vent events, providing instant notifications to operators and control systems. At the same time, it automatically logs release duration, creating a record that simplifies post-event reporting and regulatory documentation.

Built to endure, designed to integrate.

Every ClearVent™ system is constructed from stainless steel for durability in harsh conditions. The modular design allows straightforward installation, inspection, and maintenance, at any site. Units are offered in 4″ and 6″ vent line connections to accommodate common system configurations.

Proven, patented, and field-tested.

Protected by multiple U.S. patents, ClearVent™ embodies decades of ammonia safety innovation and practical field experience. The result is a system that turns a dangerous release into a controlled, predictable process—safeguarding both people and property with every activation.
